The Role:

We are currently seeking Senior Architects to join our New York and Los Angeles studios. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, well organized, thoughtful, and is experienced in the design and delivery of large, challenging projects. The candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills, leadership and professionalism, enjoys working collaboratively, and is reliable, trustworthy and accountable for deadlines and quality of work. The successful candidate will ideally have broad experience and have worked internationally.

What You Will Do:

  • Contribute to the design of projects at different phases
  • Work both independently and leading a small team, coordinating with other team leaders and consultants
  • Resolve design and technical challenges, under the guidance and support of the project leaders
  • Work in close cooperation with other members of the Grimshaw team and our consultants
  • Exhibit a passion and strive for design excellence
  • Help contribute to the life of the studio; studio-wide initiatives and challenges; our design and sustainability culture; and the broader social and wellness culture at Grimshaw.

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Master’s degree or equivalent 5-year professional degree in Architecture from an accredited school required
  • 10+ years’ professional experience 
  • Proficiency in Revit is essential
  • Working knowledge of Rhino is preferred, but not essential
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
  • Superb time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong leadership, delegation and management skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail 
  • Ability to communicate clear design ideas and direction quickly

Desired Experience:

  • Experience of working collaboratively in mid to large sized teams
  • Experience of designing net-zero carbon projects
  • Experience in Transportation, Workspace, Science and Technology sectors strongly prioritized
  • Experience in Hospitality, Residential and Sports sectors also valuable
  • Experience in working in a team, and contributing to the design of large projects is prioritized
