Who are we?

Supernature Labs is a regenerative design and technology organization committed to reinventing the existing structures of the built environment, and stopping urban sprawl as we know it.

Founded by Dror Benshetrit in 2018, Supernature Labs is a global ecosystem
of designers, architects, urbanists, city futurists, engineers, neuroscientists, strategists, technologists and activists addressing the need for regenerative urban communities.

We recognize the tremendous amount of resources and wealth being invested to enable billions of people to live in an environment that will kill us all. As both a call to action and an organization, our mission is to shift Urban Planning as we know it towards “Bioplanning", a more efficient, healthier and harmonious engagement between the natural and built world.

We are developing a holistic, practical framework to design like nature, and with nature, to measurably improve the wellbeing of all life.

Together we are working to facilitate the transition from Sustainability to Ecological Harmony and designing innovative solutions for urban planning, building typologies, material use, and regenerative construction methods that deliver holistic, ecological, and scalable urban experiences, allowing communities, economies, and ecosystems to grow in support of each other.

What is the role?

In this new role you will be an early member of our team and through computational design you will support the design and development of our urban and architectural projects that aim to radically rethink how cities are built.

Our work centers on planning, designing, and building Supercell communities around the world.
The Supercell is a modular, biophilic housing and mixed use neighborhood solution designed to merge structure and infrastructure and support healthy, equitable, and regenerative communities.

You will be joining a team of architects, designers, and technologists dedicated to sparking massive change in the AEC industry by advancing regenerative construction through cutting edge technologies and sustainability practices.

This is a designer role with a path to grow, likely a great fit for someone with 1-3 years of professional experience. You will be working closely with the Design Director.

As a Computational Designer, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting urban and architectural design work throughout the design process of innovative Supercell communities using computational tools and workflows.
  • Developing computational studies and simulations for concept design development (urban layouts, massing, modular construction).
  • Automating various design processes for multiple Supercell projects around the world.
  • Working on urban masterplan concepts and encoding design and sustainability strategies into scalable scripts.
  • Researching and implementing cutting edge computational processes and generative algorithms.
  • Outputting 2d and 3d visuals for various projects.

Must Haves:

  • Professional degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Architecture, Urban Planning, Design or related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in computational design.
  • Excellent knowledge of the AEC industry and standard design processes.
  • Excellent understanding of computational principles and geometry manipulation.
  • Experience with automating architectural workflows using computational tools.
  • Excellent computational software proficiency - primarily Rhino 3D and Grasshopper.
  • Great time management skills, and ability to work well independently.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing day-to-day design needs.
  • Eager to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Passionate about sustainability and the future of cities.

Nice to Haves:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience working on urban scale / masterplanning projects.
  • Experience with generative design.
  • Coding knowledge is a plus (C# or Python).
  • Unity experience is a plus.
