Facing towards the downtown of Providence, where is composed of various types of buildings, arouses volumetric perception. In contrast, a very smooth and flat surface of wall creates an intense transition to it. As people walk towards the “Wall”, they orient themselves to the right point of perspective so as to feel the strongest transitional moment.

Facing towards southern Providence, where everything appears flat arouses the sense of horizontality. On the contrary, the “Wall” now has a texture of volumetric verticality.

A portion of the “Fin” with holes is submerged into the river to interrupt the water flow, suggesting a further transition across the river.
