The purpose of the project was to
perform an architectural design for renovation of an existing facility. Project awarded for a
total sum of $150,000.00.
Responsible for the design development of interior facade redesign like those
in Old San Juan at building 660 (DFMWR Ft. Buchanan Community Club) main hall.
The project deviated from standard of conventional architectural practices and
methods used at Ft. Buchanan to solve problems. No precedents at Ft. Buchanan
were applicable to the specialized requirements of the project. As a designer I
determined the approaches and solutions to problems receiving little or no
guidance from supervisor.
Advanced use of skills in the utilization of computer-aided design and drafting (AutoCAD (CADD) & BIM) system and design industry computer software was crucial to fully develop the proposed concept design. Project drawing plans included colored architectural floor plans, colored interior elevations & sections, rendered interior 3D perspectives showing selected decorative facade elements, colors, materials, etc. Executed a wide range of complex design features and gave recommendations or solutions to modify standard practices. Project was completed within FY15 budget deadline. I was responsible to make a presentation to a higher-level management. Two full colored presentation boards were exhibited at building 660 main entrance. On this project I exercised judgment, creativity, and resourcefulness to solve an architectural situation. Work results affected the design, operation, and aesthetics; along with the general well-being of the occupants and could affect the Post’s credibility with internal and external customers.
