The Fantastical is a brand advertising agency that occupies the entire fourth floor of the iconic Yankee Publishing building, located in Haymarket Square. Fusion designed a space that includes thirty dramatic chandeliers, bamboo hardwood floors, chair rails throughout, and an oversized dining room table made from refurbished doors to create a home-like feel.
More than ever it is crucial for today's office space to reflect the personality of its habitants. It was clear to Fusion's design team that the Fantastical's creative team is fueled by "unrestrained imagination," which led to a unique design solution that supported and motivated their inventive work philosophy.
Due to restrictions of the historical building, and the desire to maintain the open floor plan, Fusion created floor-to-ceiling screens made from conduit piping, which are a design highlight in the space. The screens provide power and privacy for each workstation, while still allowing natural light to filter through them. The industrial screens provide a dramatic juxtaposition with the elegant chandeliers that populate the exposed ceilings, giving the space a refined, yet edgy personality.
Fusion was later awarded the IIDA New England Design Awards Best in Massachusetts, 2016.
