Help on Lighting Design, techniques, etc

Jefferson

Is there a book, online guide, or something you'd recommend that's really good at explaining lighting techniques, design, what the components are ie. parabolic vs linear, or whatever...
thank you!

what do you need to know??? I can give you the names of some of the top lighting designers around...

I suggest using LEDs for low power consumption, ease of maintenece, control...

if you are in California, you will have to satisfy you Title 24 requirements...

In a womens bathroom, you should mount wall sconces on either side of the mirror, not above it. This will give you better light for applying makeup (this also holds true for the men's restroom, I suppose)

When lighting water, place a submersable fixture in the side of the pool / fountain / etc. If there are plants in the water that you want to light, use submersable puck lights...

Good lighting is complex...if you can be somewhat more specific...
