i know a friend who went to bartlett and boy, he really had a had time getting a job in london. He actually had to do odd work for about 2 years before landing a job.
in the few months 3 friends have landed jobs in london,
at hadid, sergison bates, and at fosters.....
and shock horror none had AA, or bartlett degrees....
just try...you'd be surprised...
i must admit, being a foreigner sometimes helps a bit, if an office is getting 100 apps from germany and then theres one from oz, they may think 'hmmmm, interesting'
so i am a big fan of working in different countries
There are loads of jobs in London right now. The market is booming! Our office can't find enough experienced people right now.
I notice everyone seems to be mentioning starcitects offices, which p2an mentions have very high turnovers. Nobody is very impressed here if you have worked for Fosters. You start to notice that nobody works there for more than 6 months because they are just photocopying all day, so it's either suicide or quit.
They do love foreigneres over here, becasue sadly they have a better work ethic than the majority of the locals (gross generalisation i know, but often true).
Don't be discourage dwhen they keep askign about 'London Experience' because it's a misnomer. Once you've had your first job you have to turn your hpone off to stop agencies calling you at work.
Getting a architectural job in London easy?
how is the job market in london like for architectural professions? entry level and mid level jobs alike?
very bad unless u have your degree from the AA
very funny
but seriously
easy is a dangerous word to use.
easy is a dangerous word to use.
damn it...sorry i deserve to die cos i double posted
and cos I dont have a degree from the AA..life isnt easy.

i meant in the last few months...
something i have experienced, many firms have really high staff turnover,
which means theres often a chance to get in...
but no prizes why they have such high staff turnovers...
that said, p2an which uni are u from in Aus, so coming out of ozland must have helped u smug one up in netherlands now eh?
