The first step towards recovery is admitting you have a problem....I'm adicted to Electronic Music, and see no reason to recover.
Let me have it - who's the best, gotta have sounds?
Currently Listening to:
Aphrodite

And So On.......
I need More!
My personal favs are (in addition to a few you listed):
Underworld
Boards of Canada
Autechre
Aphex Twin
Speedy J
Prodigy (back in the day) but they have a new album coming out...
archangel...
you might also try:

murcof
or if you are leaning towards a more digitally relaxed state:

dub tractor
the album leaf
four tet
kompakt 100 (comp)

'Murcof' just released a new album under his Nortec Collective aka 'Terrestre'. I think he is making some of the most sleek and refined minimalist electro today. Extremely compositional use of Tijuana street musicians, classical music, post funk rythmn and jazz.
electronic music?
sheeeit!
you gotta start out with some steve reich, maybe some brian eno. slowly work your way up to the more danceable stuff: kox box, logic bomb, growling mad scientists, uh... shit, i guess that's all psyschedelic trance (one tiny dark bizarre corner of the electronic music field)... anyway, more psytrance:
Atmos,
Children of Paradise,
Dark Soho,
The Delta,
Hallucinogen,
Hux Flux,
Infected Mushroom,
M.O.S. (mittelstandskinder ohne strom)
Midi Miliz,
Process,
Sandman,
Shpongle,
Spirallianz,
Three Point Turn (aka 3.turn)
Vibrasphere,
X-Dream,
Xenomorph,
Younger Brother,
and last but not least: Yumade
enjoy!
good god archangel... did you really post that list in 2004 or did it get lost for about 7 years? i'm not even all that up on current stuff, but your collection could sure use some updating.
don't wanna hit you with too much current stuff, so maybe seek out the following to ease yr transition out of 1996. (seriously they're still great artists/discs...)
here we go again down the same path...why don't we call the thread "find and name the most obscure music artist you can, just fo the sake of being different"
Electronic music is not dead. Although I will agree that it reached it's pinnacle 4-5 years ago, there are still a few genres that have stepped back and begun looking at their roots (cage, eno, can, etc...etc.) to try to move forward. Then there are those artist who have no interest in the "art" of it all and are just after the big buc$. Everyone (specially the non-posers) will stand by their genre, whether it's House, Trance, DnB, 2step, Breaksbeat, clicks and beats (abstract) on and on...
lexi if you're really into it, i highly recommend purchasing one of the albums by any of the 3 wktl artists. Hifana happens to be my fav - each album contains a cd with the music and a separate dvd with the music put to amazing graphics
I've been listening to the new Prodigy album last couple of days, and to be honest it's a bit disapointing. It hits hard with openers spitfire and girls but the rest of the songs are disapointing and almost non-prodigy worthy
ok I got to say.......... from the link above http://www.wktokyolab.com/
