this drawing is not great for 3 hours. I'd say it took him 3 hours if he was drunk, stoned, distracted, tired and half asleep. Otherwise it seems like more of a 15 min sketch. And I've seen better 15min sketches.
a designer named joep van lieshout draws alot of his work in this way. I would say much better and definitely more interesting to look at. He has a website. google atelier van lieshout.
I can see why the Bartlett comment was made, the drawings look in the manner of CJ Lim, Diploma Unit 10 Master. Check out the "Cow Farm" project at http://www.cjlim-studio8.com/ (Flash Warning)
i have no problem with trends. most artists get caught up in trends. it is natural and can serve as a learning experience. just don't become static. i believe bruce mau talks about copying others in his incomplete manifesto as a way of understanding and growth.
my friend did this drawing in 3 hours!!! AMAZING!

very interesting...
I'm guessing your friend went to The Bartlett?
What's so amazing about it? I've seen plenty of students do work equally as good, usually in an extremely conscious attempt to appear arty. Drivel
can i buy a print of it? [yes.]
so is this a play for free advertising via archinect? [yes.]
well...he just sent these link to me last night....
what does it imply?
yup, I'd be careful about posting your "friend's" work. If it was just a link, then fine, but to purchase?
Go to a graphic oriented site to get people to look at the stuff. People are going to be less tolerant here.

My semi-famous friend is able to paint a 6 foot tall portrait within 5 mins; he was on mtv, local news, etc.
And if you order now, we'll throw in the magic spot remover!!! AMAZING!

what the fuck is up with that drawing? its a piece of goo, if you ask me
that style is quite 'trendy' these days, not a personal fav, but apparently popular (for now)
why do people hate on trends so much? who cares? seriously!
