Apple is a public company so, many many people own apple. And, yes, Microsoft has shares...I believe about 2-5% of the company...but I could be wrong.

That said, it (Microsoft) has nothing to do with the daily functioning of Apple.

if microsoft owns 2-5%, though, then they have a pretty loud voice at the table. unless apple owns 51% or something.

I thought Microsoft owned more like 30% and earned that stake in Apple when they bailed it out in 97 or 98.

Anyone confirm this?

Didn't you know Microsoft rules the world? They own everything; Apple Computer, big pharmaceuticals, big oil, big finance. They even own Philip Morris. All heil the mighty Microsoft.
