Sad indeed. But what's terrible on my part is that...I thought he had already died. I think that I mistook that for hearing about his Alzheimer's. Maybe I was thinking of Deforest Kelley. Either way, let's you know that time passes before you know it.

the longevity of the cast of the original star trek has been great when compared to a show like bewitched where all the stars died relatively young. i wonder if a study has ever been done?

samantha dead at 62
darren's one and two both dead at 64
endora dead at 74
larry tate dead at 74
both tabitha's still alive
