I love this. I actually went there for my grad advisor's birthday last summer. As I pulled up in front, I went through that whole routine in my mind. That valet scene is fun, too.

The messy, eventually hidden underbelly (literally) of all those sleek hillside houses. Bonus: a good final resting place for the occasional blackmailer or troublesome neighbor. Or so I've heard.
LARGE hole in the ground, long story short - where the upper floor edge is, there were 2 steps down to the living room- all along that edge-, we are raising the floor to be one level and the owner decided to use the crawl space underneath - underpinning footings and all that fun.
can we talk photography gear? I’m looking for a new bag after the zippers on my peak design 5l sling have been destroyed. I’m looking at maybe 10L messenger or crossbody with exterior bottle pockets, any ideas?

I love architectural problem solving, especially when creative sections are involved.
JLC-1,
So, are you slipping in a retaining wall/foundation under the new walls and floor? I like the snaking stairs. Soaring.
Yes, underpinning all around.
