Hi all, I am looking for some advice about the career path. I am a graduate with a BFA in (a combination of sculpture/architecture and have been working with a small arch firm for the past 3 years. I’m wondering how long it would take me to get enough hours in my IDP to become licensed or even start taking the AREs. I have done research in for IDP under NY state which does not require a B. Arch to register, but I’m wondering if the process will be up to 15 years. Is it really necessary to be licensed to work in the field? I have been considering getting LEED certifications and just learning as much as I can in the real world since grad school will only add to my student debt. Any advice would be helpful!
