The White House recently announced an update in its efforts to bolster clean construction in the United States. The update lists various public and private entities that have now committed to its three-year-old Federal Buy Clean Initiative. Some companies mentioned in the press release as signing on include Cemex, the Turner Construction Company, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft. The City of Los Angeles, New York State, Washington State, and Michigan are among the five new participants in the Federal-State Buy Clean Partnership.
New York City is also expected to begin requiring environmental product declarations for concrete and steel products, according to the website POLITICO E&E News. The White House says to date, the federal government has deployed some $4.5 billion from the Inflation Reduction Act to support the Initiative.
