Undergraduate Internship?

JabbaRookie

hello all.

just an undergraduate student pursuing an M.Arch I (Urban Studies major). barely have any inexperience in Architecture although I am taking the summer program at UCLA this coming summer. so, when is a good time to start looking for an internship and would it even be possible to find one without any experience?

I'm concerned about this too. As an undergraduate architecture major at a liberal arts college I don't necessarily want an internship and would rather spend my last summer before I apply to architecture school exploring interests outside of architecture while I still can, but all my friends are doing internships and I am concerned that if I don't do one it will make me seem less loyal to architecture. It's probably too late to find one now, anyway, but my preference is giving me a lot of anxiety. Is there anyone here who was able to successfully get into a top architecture school (Yale, GSAPP, GSD, etc.) *without* doing an internship?
