A series of private residence in the remote hills of Sun Valley in South Korea, this project is a manifestation of our attitude toward nature and living.
Each of the 5 houses of this project is a conversation between the inhabitant and the surrounding forest / mountains. Measuring only 1200 to 1500 sq. feet each, these structure allow the owners an intimate dialogue with nature, while allowing wind, view, air and sunlight to "pass" through the house.
In this sense, these structure are much like traditional pavilions in Asian gardens and landscapes.
Build with entirely ecological materials, this project is an alternative to the polarized conditions of urban congestion and suburban "mansions" that is so prevalent in Asia today.
