SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine Renovations Stony Brook, NYAs part of this grant-funded construction, SUNY Stony Brook is looking to rebrand the building’s existing modular exterior to a new aesthetic including a new entrance the the school. There will be an L-shaped addition will extend the current space to allow for additional clinical space consisting of new construction and re-assignment of nonclinical space to clinical space. The result yields a total of 4,975 sf of new clinical space, and a new operatory suite which will include 35 new operatories, 2 new x-ray rooms and a local dispensary and lab. Each operatory will be a minimum of 90 SF and will have a computer and touch panel monitor to enable health care providers to access patient records and digital radio¬graphs in the SDM’s paperless environment. The new addition will help alleviate the pressures of a growing curriculum and help increase the level of service for the School’s community outreach program while bringing the facility up to modern standards and the latest trends in dental procedures.
