Silver Lake Addition, Los Angeles, circa 2007. A 1000 sq. ft. addition to an existing 950 sq. ft. Arts and Crafts bungalow, OCD designed a modern addition—the original house is almost not visible from the garden—shifts with the slope of the site and the existing water feature plan in the rear garden. The corrugated metal and wood sash windows are extensions of materials found in the original house and they emphasize the eclectic bohemian nature of Silver Lake in LA. The rail openings at corners are specifically in place to capture breathtaking views of downtown Los Angeles to the southeast.
Landscape design included redesigning an existing water feature into a a 30 ft. long stream with a small pool basin at its terminus.
