Bridge House grapples with a typically complex hillside site in the Hollywood Hills which curves dramatically in plan and slopes at 2:1 from the street down. In order to economize on site work, no part of the house was allowed to touch grade so that the only access to outdoor space--an essential element of Los Angeles residential living--is the bridge / transparent entry sequence roughly bisecting four zones of living within the house.
