Wimbledon House

Wimbledon House is a carefully considered residential project that balances modern living with the area’s historical character. The house is divided into three distinct volumes, each with a mono-pitched roof, referencing the proportions and forms of surrounding Edwardian homes. This arrangement not only creates a striking silhouette but also enhances the connection between the interior and the garden, offering views and natural light from every room.

Internally, the design revolves around a spacious central double-height kitchen and dining area, positioned to open directly onto a newly landscaped garden. The adjacent living areas and bedrooms are organized with an emphasis on comfort and privacy, while thoughtful details such as timber-framed windows and whitewashed walls create a serene, minimal backdrop. A ground-source heat pump, high levels of insulation, and energy-efficient materials ensure a sustainable, low-carbon home.

The exterior’s use of traditional materials, including water-struck brick and cast stone, integrates the house into its historical context, while offering a modern interpretation of local craftsmanship.
