The Plykea Workshop is a transformative design that merges a production facility, office, showroom, and meeting space into a unified and dynamic environment. Situated within the Here East innovation campus in London, the project emphasizes transparency and connectivity, bringing together various functions while maintaining a sense of openness. Large-scale timber acoustic partitions, crafted from repurposed open web joists, effectively divide the noisy manufacturing areas from the quieter zones, while preserving visual links across the space. A mezzanine level, framed by a repurposed lift shaft structure, offers additional meeting and office space, framing views across the production floor.

This adaptive design prioritizes both sustainability and functionality, utilizing locally sourced materials and incorporating effective acoustic and environmental strategies. The project’s spatial arrangement fosters a productive atmosphere where staff, clients, and visitors can interact seamlessly with the manufacturing process, reflecting Plykea’s commitment to craftsmanship, customer engagement, and innovation.
