Working in a group of 3, we took a look at a city in China and began to explore urban design and how we could create a community and cultural hub within the industrial city of Qujing, China. Our concept involved bringing people together through arts and sports. We began to look at how we could trace peoples movements and found a technique called rotoscoping. Coming up with these rotoscoped shapes allowed us to use a method of subtractive architecture to remove parts of the existing buildings and add elements through the use of living bridges.
The sub-city become a mixed-use facility, accommodating to numerous types of people.
