Working in a team of three for the competition; the brief for this competition involved creating a house or series of houses that would accommodate the 15 members of the growing Jorejick family. We proposed a modular system to address this continually changing family dynamic. The hexagonal module allows a vibrant network of courtyards and hubs which embraces traditional communal and outdoor living. Design and concept was a team effort, with all deliverables shown completed by me.
We focused on developing a robust structural system to allow modules to easily be joined and changed. Walls and traditional shoji screens separate rooms and spaces which allows for a personalised feel while embracing the traditional Iraqw craftsmanship.
Moving on from sketches, the concept was continually evolving, from massing in Rhino 3D, we took the final design into Revit.
