RedFarm Upper West Side

Red and White are de rigueur at Redfarm’s upper west side outpost, where country meets modern. Similarly to its downtown headquarters, the rustic yet sleek design matches the establishment’s avant-garde comfort cuisine. Outside red tin letter-shaped marquee lights in large glass jars spell the restaurant name and invite by-standers to enter the warm light-filled space. Exposed brick walls are painted white and, together with honey-toned oak beams extending from wall recesses and stretching along the ceiling, create the illusion of a barn interior. Private and communal seating coexist in the main dining room where a long dining table acts as the centerpiece flanked by custom built-in booths along the walls. Here Redfarm’s signature elements have been upgraded: custom white magnetized metal menu boards and grated baskets are affixed to powder coated piping mounted on the ceiling. These carry plants and other accessories, including menus and chopsticks. The secondary dining room is narrower, featuring 2-top booths tucked into wall recesses on one side and 4-top tables on the other. Narrow lighting fixtures and horizontal mirrors brighten the space. The dining rooms lead to the back bar where red stools shine against the white brick bar siding topped with a dark grey fire slate counter. Wooden built-in shelves with back paneling display bottles, glassware and farmhouse accessories including miniature barrels.
