The Florez Residence was designed with consideration to a significantly narrow site and other parameters that made the design process a challenge. The clients requirements were of a 5 bedroom residence with 2 car garage and a mud room/ laundry room, kitchen, dining and living area. with these parameters the house was designed on a circulation access that traveled through the middle of the residence allowing access to all elements of the programmatic scheme The circulation access starts form the entry from which the dining, living, and kitchen areas are visible and accessed due to the open plan that is designed to integrate these programs into one ample space. moving inwards through the dwelling the access narrows to a hallway in which all 5 bedrooms are accessed. the master suite and living area both are accommodated with access to the exterior of the portion of the property. the exterior design uses contemporary materials to provide a modern aesthetic to the project and utilizing a single south facing roof slope to accommodate future solar panel integration to add another sustainable feature to the project.
