The Dalhousie school of architecture is located downtown in a [renovated] historical building. Its comparable to the University of Toronto al&d building. More information here: http://www.library.dal.ca/duasc/buildings/HBuilding.htm

I would recommend the following:
1. The south east area of the city has an incredible park that is juxtaposed directly adjacent to the shipping yards. There is also a road that goes through the shipping yards anyone can walk/bike on.
2. Take a ferry across the harbour to Dartmouth, not much to see in Dartmouth (although I, personally, the oil refineries very exciting), but the view of the city from the water is great.
3. The Saturday morning farmers market is great from 9am-2pm.
4. If you have more time, then walk/bike the macdonald bridge - you can see almost the entire downtown of halifax from this vantage point including the naval repair yards.

Man that is some wicked sh**t.
Makes me wish i had visited Halifax when my Aunt and Uncle still lived there..
What does the school look like? It is a giant warehouse :-)?
I'll be in Halifax next week. The images are making me excited! Any recommendations in particular?
