On the rocky shores of Gloucester Massachusetts, this new center of art and performance is meant to reconnect the community with the waterfront and provide a much needed space for local art. Gloucester is an east coast seaside retreat with a small downtown and a large arts culture. Although their downtown is growing, they have no performance space besides the local high school auditorium. This center for art and performance is designed to energize the recent downtown growth and reconnect the city to its waterfront. The walls are angled and shaped to mirror the rocky coast and the curved wood floor gently slopes towards the water acting like the tide pulling visitors back towards the ocean.
