The project subject comprised the integration of modern buildings in an environment of particular architectural character (protected traditional surroundings) . The Old City of Nauplio, has a powerful architectural character and it is developed in cohesive network constituted by buildings of big scale. This is the project area.
The main thought includes the manufacturing of a modern building that will be a part of the city environment via the opposition. We didn’t want the building represent a simple retrospection of the city’s old forms. On the contrary, we intended to import new data in the city’s building environment constructing a landmark , giving a modern character to the city.
The building is made up by 3 individual forms:  the bank, the cafeteria and the meetings hall. Three different buildings are ordered vertically in the street and in distance from each other, leaving space for 3 corridors that lead to the buildings and the backyard.
