Project of motel

Building plot located between highway St. Petersburg - Sortavala and the river Kiteenjoki having at this point fairly high and steep bank. Detached housing was supposed to place in the border area adjacent to the river. Two other property line form strips of wood. Also on site are the buildings of the motel office, café and public telephone booth. From the highway are outdoor parking and parking for villas trailers.

  The cottage is divided into three functional zones located along the axis of each other, namely, parking for two cars, a house and a terrace. All three zones have a common roof area having the greatest rise in the area of the house.

  The house is solved as compact as possible. Focus was made on visual imagery. Compact layout should favorably affect to the characteristics of energy-saving houses, the price per square meter and materials.

  The house is one-storey with mezzanine floor. In terms it has a rectangular shape with axial dimensions of 5.5 to 8 meters. The composition of the premises of the house includes: entrance vestibule, entrance hall with wardrobe, bathroom with shower and sauna, a common room with a beggar for cooking. In the common room near the central axis of the house there is a staircase leading to the mezzanine floor where the bedroom is located. All areas of the house are grouped around the hall. Living room in the end of the house, adjacent to the terrace, has a high from -floor-to-ceiling glass windows with the shift towards floating doors, in the roof above the terrace are skylights that in the warmer periods of the year, when doors are moved apart,  allows you to combine a common room and a terrace in a single volume.

  Also skylights in the roof located over the porch from the parking lot.
