Barcelona temporary pavilion, new outdoor structure for Barcelona

In this project I wanted to create not just a separate building of the pavilion with the specified functions, consisting of a set of walls and ceilings, but rather a kind of landscape features, which grows from the surface on which it is located. The main function, which dictated by the task of competition and in particular the location of the pavilion, carried to the surface. This pavilion is located at the marina, in the place where two elements earth and water faces. These two elements collide with each other, competing and permeating into each other. Based on the foregoing, the pavilion consists of two identical parts arranged at an angle to the ground surface. The surfaces of these parts have a step shape, similar to the ancient theater or auditorium, where you can relax with comfort while watching from the heights over life on land or water. Each of these two parts in turn consists of the three different-sized triangles, which are mutually crash into each other. The main entrance to the pavilion is located in the pavilion in the end of the larger triangle. On the first floor is the lobby with an information center, public toilets, cafe hall with a kitchen and showroom. On the mezzanine floor, where are two staircases and two lifts, the main hall and a café are settled. Also on the surface of the pavilion are small platforms with green areas, supporting the element of earth. Cafe tables can be placed there. Masts with sails located on the axis of the triangles and create translucent shade in bright sunny days support marine theme and close to park of sailing vessels. The two surfaces of the pavilion spill over and bump into one another, creating an interesting attraction for its visitors. Enjoy your vacation, the joy of meeting and contemplation.
