Location: 345 Ridgewood Dr. Key Biscayne, Florida
Year Completed: 2015
The 345 Ridgewood Dr. Residence was designed for a Peruvian family. The family wanted to obtain the maximum amount of space for the exterior of the house. The organizational scheme of the house is a side/lateral house, it normally being a median house, in between two houses. However, it generates a space for the exterior, where there is a pool, pool deck, and gazebo, which were the requirements by the family. The spaces inside all point out to the exterior spaces.
This house offers a very nice view from the moment you enter to see the whole house, kitchen, living area and outside space, a sensation that the clients wanted people to feel when they entered their residence. There is also a feeling of ample space and spaciousness in a relatively small site, 7,500 sq.ft. The structure of the house is designed in concrete, wood and steel with the second floor suspended from the roof with the idea to eliminate columns in the first floor. The exterior finish is stucco, wood and stucco reveals. It also has a spacatto wall that emphasizes the stairs volume.
