This National Geographic Store was meant to evoke the excitement of travel and the wonder of award winning photography. Large back lit images at the storefront drew one into a warm inviting space to explore. A band of nature photography ran around the perimeter, above the fixtures. Light maple wood fixturing really set off the colors of the merchandise.
The central feature of the space was a recessed revolving globe of the earth set into a starry sky lit night sky. Behind the custom curved cashwrap was an identity wall made of back lit onyx stone with the NG logo and mission statement. A 3D printed map of the actual location the store was in was another feature prominently displayed. Furthermore a compass rose depicting true north was inset into a terrazzo floor. A large screen broadcast the NG channel and promoted their DVd's for sale.
