Over a number of years, I designed many Kids Works to stores in airports across the US and Canada.
A wide open storefront allows ample views into this vibrant store. A multi- dimensional and colorful KidsWorks sign makes the storefront come alive as you enter the asymmetrical bright yellow entry portal. Kids Works is a concept which offers brand name toy merchandise in a colorful and whimsical setting. A colorful wave design fascia runs above the perimeter wall displays, where the brand logos announce themselves, and colorful zig zag and wavy fins separate those brands. A large colorful cashwrap features many cubbies to entice the young and old alike to buy impulse items. Directly behind the cashwrap is a large plasma screen which entertains the little ones and features previews of the DVD’s for sale. The store is anchored by an ameba shaped bright blue sparkle tile floor and above by a yellow undulating recessed ceiling. The ceiling also features track lighting with whimsical aeronautical pendant fixtures. Various exciting low gondolas in many children’s themes, such as a car and an airplane, fill out the merchandise mix and bring surprise to the eyes of anyone. Kids Works provides an entertaining retail experience; one reminiscent of a wonderland, a place where anyone would love to get lost in.
