Participants in this competition worked, as a part of a four person team, to research the various needs of children while they are being assessed for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The mobile unit provided participants with spatial and privacy challenges. Through research, our team developed a program which focused on themes derived from Water and Snoezelan (controlled multi-sensory environment) therapies within a fully adjustable interior environment.
Finishes were selected,in a palette reminiscent of water on the beach, for their durability, stain resistance, and low maintenance. Indoor/ Outdoor fabrics were specified and a variety of textures were provided to stimulate the senses.
