JRDV Urban International is Lead Design Architect and Master Planner for Shanghai Village, a 50,000 sqm destination luxury retail center located in the Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone, which includes Shanghai Disney Resort. 

The project is inspired by Shanghai's exceptional Art Deco Heritage and includes pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods comprised of unique, intricate buildings connected, recalling Shanghai's historic lane neighborhoods.  The pedestrian walkways are focused on a beautiful waterfront, evocative of Shanghai's Bund.  Serving the enormous population of greater Shanghai, Shanghai Village is target to become one of the most important luxury shopping destinations in World.  

JRDV worked on the project continuously from first sketches to final execution, including coordination with Local Design Institute and many local and international consultants. The project's exquisite design detail and precise execution is unmatched by any recent outdoor retail projects in China. In April 2017, the project earned ICSC's Gold Metal for New Developments in China.
