100 Architect designed this vacation home on the Outer Beach of Cape Cod in close consideration of the site’s natural surroundings: a grassy wetland, sand dunes, and the Atlantic Ocean. Set on a hillside planted with native vegetation, the house creates many opportunities for indoor/outdoor living. The home’s upper volume is clad with cedar shingles, in keeping with the New England vernacular, while the lower volume is composed of mahogany siding. The open-plan interiors allow for spatial flexibility and sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
