Landscape as Infrastructure

This project centers on the water problems in Southern California and human intervention on landscapes.  The manipulated landscape is a theoretical site that was inspired by the location and topography of Mulholland Drive.  The site is home to Agent Zero, a water cistern, and a private ranger station.  The site also facilitates public interaction and learning through a series of programs: public meeting room, Mulholland Memorial, amphitheater, and nursery.

The aim of this project was to maintain ambiguity between natural and man-made.  This was achieved by superimposing a line drawing on the landscape and transforming the entire site into plots of native plants.  Therefore, even the "natural" areas have been manipulated by human hand, turning the whole site into an infrastructure project.
