This project proposes an art museum in downtown Culver City, next to the Metro and site of the proposed Ivy master plan.

To aid in the development of spatial relationships, two artists whose work would be displayed in the museum were given: Rudolf Stingel and Gerhard Richter.  Stingel is known for carpeting and wallpapering entire spaces, and Richter experiments with paint and photography.  This project creates an immersive art experience through its use of folded planes, which at once both partition off spaces and make the whole museum one space.  Plastering the planes, including ceilings, floors, and walls, with carpet and wallpaper, and overlaying paintings on top, makes the museum appear to be boundless.  The folded planes act as a light superstructure, through which a multitude of ways of experiencing the museum are possible.
