KFC - Restaurant Remodel

For many years an older, smaller KFC restaurant with only a few seats for inside dining occupied this prominent corner on the highly traveled, El Camino Real in Santa Clara.

This unique prototype design replaced the original building. The design is unique to accommodate both the site restrictions and the City’s design requirements.   The only area for possible expansion was on the front, moving the dining room closer to the corner.  The curved front of the design is a response to the setback line and the available building area.   A high ceiling in the dining room accommodates tall windows that open the dining room to the outside and provide great visibility from the intersection.  The new restaurant is 2,616 square feet with additional parking, seating for 48, and a reconfigured drive-thru lane.  The star symbols are designed to appear as embossed into the stucco surface.
