In alignment with the Tainan 400th Anniversary celebrations, Taiwan Railways Administration has initiated the "Early Beautification Project for Tainan Station." The preliminary plan has received approval from relevant authorities such as the Cultural Heritage Administration. The exterior construction scaffolding around the station will draw inspiration from other historical sites and architectural beautification projects, incorporating semi-transparent wave panels and symbolic designs. Inside the waiting hall, display walls will be utilized, aiming to continue the restoration efforts and restore the station's original appearance. Taiwan Railways Administration is committed to actively carrying out and expediting the restoration project.
The Railway Engineering Office Kaohsiung Division of Taiwan Railways Administration announced that, in collaboration with the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the founding of Tainan City, the waiting hall of Tainan Railway Station will undergo beautification using curved display walls to create a more pleasant environment for passengers. Existing fences and scaffolding outside the station will undergo reinforcement, with translucent wave panels added for aesthetic enhancement. At night, the station's interior lights will be projected outward, giving the appearance of the station glowing like a lantern, in line with the imagery of the Taiwan Lantern Festival to be held in Tainan next year.
