With their extensive background in the marijuana space, our clients moved quickly to be a part of Mississippi’s medical marijuana program. Having purchased a mid-century modern former retail building, the structure already had a strong exterior presence while providing a blank slate on the interior. In partnership with D+P Architects, the client and design team agreed on an approach to bring elements from the MCM design repertoire such as built in planters, open slat screen walls and simplified profiles while allowing for more contemporary forms and colors as demonstrated by the irregular service counter that flows from the front entry toward the rear of the space. All of these elements come together to provide a fully functional but inviting space that allows the patient to feel comfortable and relaxed within the space. Construction finalized and the Dispensary has been in operation since 2023.
