Mammoth Espresso has established itself as a premiere boutique

coffee shop in New Orleans. This success has led to the birth of Mammoth
Coffee Company and is requiring them to create a space for their own
roasting. Mammoth chose to keep the expansion within the same building
as the coffee shop to have the roasting facility to be a visual feature
to patrons, connecting every cup to the raw product and process. The
physical space’s design was seen as an “impression” of the existing
space which led to a juxtaposition of the existing shops color scheme,
the use of similar materials, allowing the space to feel cohesive but
separate. The wood slat design functions as a sound control element
while also being a visual feature and connection.
