New York, NY
Having grown up in this very large Fifth Avenue apartment, the owner’s goal was to refashion the apartment into a much more modern layout. The original plan, largely untouched since the 1940’s building was first built, had a service corridor that ran the length of the apartment, and numerous maids’ rooms. The new plan includes an oval foyer, a mahogany library opening to the living room, and a large dining room built to accommodate business functions as well as family events. The décor strives for understated elegance, using a mix of family antiques, mid-century French furniture, and custom made pieces.
