The program of this project contains a bike shop, artist residences, gallery, and coffee shop. It is a wood frame structure which also uses local materials such as field stone to create an appropriate space for its location, the woods. The horizontal slats of wood which make up the exterior skin are supposed to mimic the topography lines gently rising from the creek to the base of the building. They hit the building and move vertically to encase the structure. Its simple rectangular shapes are meant to
mimic the remains of an old guard house, which is contained within the structure and used as a cafe space.
