A tea room designed in an urban setting to offer its inhabitants a space for relaxation.  Because of the high maintenance of tatami mats, the floor is finished with stone pieces the same size as tatami mats.  At the same time since gardens required a lot of care, the garden is simplified with one focal piece, a bonsai tree surround by water.  Finally, since natural views are difficult in urban areas and privacy is important, the main view of the tea room is oriented to the sky, while the lower area is finished with frosted glass panels to enhance the illumination of the space.
