CONTEXT

Dolmen is a 2150ft2 custom-house design, set on the idyllic Canal du Midi of Toulouse, France. The site itself is an abandoned tennis court adjacent to the canal and surrounded by the densely forested area. The pre-existing conditions allow for insertion with no removal of trees.

PROJECT

Because of its calming attributes, the site has particularity high foot traffic canal side. Furthermore, because of the development of houses along the canal, a road is anticipated on the south side of the property.

Therefore the project is designed in a u-shape, sheltering itself from these exterior factors. All the while creating a privatized garden and allowing for generous openings.
