PHILLY BIRDHOUSE- Audubon Society Studio Project

PHILLY BIRDHOUSE- Audubon Society Studio Project

The PHILLY BIRDHOUSE consists of a ground level bird sanctuary/ pedestrian park so that pedestrians may enjoy the greenery and co-exist among Philadelphia's bird population. Classrooms and an information center are located one floor lower. The path of travel from entrance to exit is illuminated with natural skylight and clear story systems. The field of view is gradually taken away as you enter. This creates a hyper-awareness of sounds as visitors become conscious of the sounds of the city much as a bird aware of the calls from one another.
