Vanilla Sky
The owners of Vanilla Sky wanted to build a brand in the frozen yogurt
and gourmet coffee business that would raise the bar in that fast
growing market. The prototype store in Astoria, Queens takes a
European approach to design by mixing Scandinavian and Greek
influences. The storefront features bright white and wavy walls that
recall the fresh chill of the yogurt, while feeling modern and
exceptionally clean. Because the neighborhood lacked a living room
where moms and freelancers could relax and work, we also created a
second room that would promote organic creativity. We opened skylights
to let in natural light, we frosted the brick walls to create warmth,
we installed plants and trees, and we custom built seating with plush
pillows.
