When the owners of the famous Mexicue food trucks were ready to expand
into a brick and mortar business, we fused a rustic aesthetic with
industrial grit to create a modern and adaptable space in the Flatiron
District. Mexicue combines American BBQ with Mexican style, and needed
a storefront that would represent and support this innovative fusion
and growing brand. The space allows customers to feel the excitement
of a cutting edge food truck while relaxing in a warm and comfortable
dining room upstairs. The space features layers of texture and warm
colors, including salvaged wood beams, natural stone, and wainscoting
that contributes to the experience of dynamic and flavorful comfort
food.
