Design made in partnership with UFRGS and Porto Alegre’s city hall. It’s an architectural project for Cairu’s Intermodal Station, this place will be used daily by 98 thousand people. The project was made with a set of predefined rules, among them: the height of underground pavements, the bus arrival e departure areas and the localization of the subway station.
The main challenge was designing the station’s outdoor roofing. The park near the land plot is one of the few pleasant green places in Farrapos Avenue, with this in mind, the park was chosen as the project’s guideline. With the purpose to reproduce the park’s pleasantness, the steel structures were made to look like trees covered with light transmitant material, saving energy during daytime.
